Which means the American Society for Testing and Materials, is a globally recognized leader in the development and delivery of international voluntary consensus standards. Today, some 12,000 ASTM standards are used around the world to improve product quality, enhance safety, facilitate market access and trade, and build consumer confidence.
Standard designations usually consist of a letter prefix and a sequentially assigned number. Prefix letters correspond to the following subjects:
B = Nonferrous Metal Materials
C = Ceramic, Concrete, and Masonry Materials
D = Miscellaneous Materials
E = Miscellaneous Subjects
F = Materials for Specific Applications
G = Corrosion, Deterioration, and Degradation of Materials
